What is Community Economic
Development?
Community Economic
Development (CED) is a process where people living in a community work
together to create a diversified and sustainable local economy.
In Nova Scotia,
people are creating community parks and gardens, holding music festivals
and carving out wilderness trails. They're building community-owned
businesses and setting up worker-owned companies. They're opening heritage
museums, operating 4-H clubs and starting small businesses. And they're
supporting each other by buying locally produced products and using
local services.
