How do I get started?

So you'd like to get started in CED. Perhaps you have a community project in mind or would like to volunteer to be a part of an existing organization. Whatever your choice, start by finding out what's happening in your community already. CED By Region lists CED organizations by county, and includes contact information. Most RDA's can provide you with information on CED activities and organizations in your county too.

For some background on what CED is all about, have a look at this What Is CED?, CED Principles and People-Centred Economics. And read some of the success stories about the great things that are happening in Nova Scotia.

Then, if you want more in-depth knowledge about CED, check out the educational programs available in Nova Scotia, from Grade 9 social studies to introductory CED certificates to a Masters of Business Administration program with a CED specialization. They're listed under CED Education in Nova Scotia.

Finally, if you've got an idea for your community, there's a great CED Support System to help you achieve your goals. Get a group of like-minded people together, talk to the CED organizations in your area that can help you get organized, make a plan, and GO FOR IT!
